Calling all VIM athletes! The 2018 CrossFit Open season starts next week February 22nd! We have been preparing for this following the DekaComp programming all year and now is the time to test how much your fitness has improved over last year. If you’re new this year and don’t know what I’m talking about, watch the video below. We are putting together the 2 teams for our annual in-house CrossFit Open competition between the Meatheads and the Powderpuffs. This is the fun way our community participates along with hundreds of thousands of other crossfitters in this 5-week annual worldwide CrossFit event. We want everyone to join in. Each weekly workout is scalable and your goal is to do your best to help your team win each week.
Official paid registration is optional. It’s nice to be able to see where you stand on the worldwide leaderboard broken down by state/age group/occupation, etc… and to see how your ranking has changed from previous years, but you don’t have to register there to take part in our in-house competition. All you have to do to participate on our teams is sign up on the door and commit to getting the announced workout done between Thursday night and Tuesday of each week for the full 5 weeks. We had over 40 people join in last year!
We will watch the workout announcements each Thursday night at 6pm. Official times to perform the judged workouts each week will be Friday 6:30pm, Saturday 9:30am, Saturday 10:30am and Sunday 11:00am. Those are the times you will automatically have judges available. If you need to make up a workout at any other time, you simply make sure someone is available to do it with you or judge you by posting on the VIM Community page. If you have any questions prior to signing up, just ask any of your coaches, and then get signed up ASAP so I can assign the teams.
